अनुदिनी ७५ -हरवलेला माणूस आणि विमादावा / Blog 75- Missing person and insurance

 

दारावरची बेल वाजली आणि पेपरचं भेंडोळं आत पडलं.

मिहीरने हातातला चहाचा कप बाजूला ठेवून पेपर उचलला.

आतून दोन-तीन हॅन्डबीलं खाली पडली.

‘Golden Voyage’, नवविवाहितांसाठी एक अनोखी योजना! मिहीर हातातलं पॅम्पलेट वाचू लागला आणि ते वाचत असतानाच त्याला आपल्या विमा पॅालीसीचा हप्ता भरायची आठवण झाली. त्याने लगेचच login केले पण त्याच्या डोळ्यांसमोरुन प्राजक्ताचा चेहरा काही हलेना.

समोर बॅन्डवर हलक्या सुरात पाश्चात्य संगीताची धून वाजत होती. आज लेफ्टनंट कर्नल वैद्य ह्यांचा वाढदिवस होता. कॅप्टन राऊत ह्यांनी त्यांच्या बंगलीच्या हिरवळीवर त्या निमित्ताने पार्टी दिली होती. पार्टीत मिलिटरीतील काही अधिकाऱ्यांबरोबर त्यांचे आप्तस्वकीयही होते.

मिहीरला नुकतेच कमिशन मिळाले होते आणि तोही आमंत्रितांपैकी एक होता. मिलिटरी पोशाखात तो भलताच रुबाबदार दिसत होता. त्याची रक्तवर्णी गुलाबी बोटं हातातील रमच्या ग्लासाभोवती फिरत होती. आणि निळेशार डोळे आजूबाजूचा आसमंत न्याहाळत होते .

Welcome Mihir! 

असा खणखणीत आवाज आणि पाठीवर थाप, दोन्ही एकदमच मिहीरवर आदळले.

“ओ, कॅप्टन राऊत!” मिहीर मागे वळून बोलता झाला.

“I don’t believe such a handsome personality alone today?” कॅप्टन डोळे मिचकावत बोलते झाले.

“No sir! I have! (मिहीर हातातील ग्लास उंचावून दाखवतो)

 चिअर्स!“

सोबत अजून एक ग्लास उंचावला गेला.

“ओ, वेलकम मेजर खरे!”

(कॅप्टन राउत मेजर खऱ्यांच्या मिसेसची आणि त्यांच्या मुलीची ओळख करून देतात. प्राजक्ता, दहा-बारा वर्षांची मेजर खऱ्यांची मुलगी, चमकदार डोळे आणि तरतरीत चेहरा, लहान असूनही चार-चौघात ती लक्ष वेधून घेत होती)

१०,९,८,७,६,५,४,३,२,१ प्रचंड आवाज करत रॅाकेट मंगळयान मोहीम -२ वर निघाले. कॅप्टन रोहीत आणि इतर दोघांबरोबर मिहीरही ह्या मोहिमेत सहभागी होता. 

नासाने पाठवलेल्या पर्सव्हिअरन्स रोव्हरच्या देखभालीसाठी सात महिन्याच्या प्रदीर्घ प्रवासानंतर ‘Operation Mars 2’ यान मंगळावर यशस्वीरित्या उतरले.

यानाच्या दुरुस्तीबरोबर त्यांनी काही प्रयोगही केले. एकंदरीत मंगळावर सजीव सृष्टी अवतरू शकते का? ह्याचा अभ्यास त्यांच्या मंगळभेटीच्या कार्यक्रम पत्रिकेवर होता. वेळेत Mars Operation 2 ने आपले काम पूर्ण केले आणि ते परतीच्या प्रवासासाठी निघाले.

शहनाईचे मंजुळ स्वर आसमंतात भरून होते. पारंपरिक  लग्नाच्या पोषाखात मिहीर आणि प्राजक्ताचा जोडा सुंदर दिसत होता.

काय मंडळी, चमकलात ना?

अहो, सांगतो काय झालं ते!

मिहीरचं Mars Operation-2 यान परतीच्या प्रवासात कृष्णविवरात ओढलं गेलं. सुदैवाने ते पृथ्वीवर सुखरूप परतले त्या वेळी प्राजक्ताचे लग्नाचे वय झाले होते.

हो! पृथ्वीवरील काल गणनेनुसार साधारण पंधरा ते सोळा वर्ष मिहीर कृष्णविवरात अडकला होता.पण ज्यावेळी तो परतला तेव्हा त्याचे वय काही वाढलेले नव्हते.

आपला हीरो गद्धे पंचविशीतच होता.

मिहीर-प्राजक्ताची टू सिटर Just married-Airbus, स्पेस स्टेशनवर हनीमूनसाठी निघाली. आणि मिहीरने ‘Golden Voyage’ प्लॅन करता लॅागीन केले.

मंडळी, मला आपल्याला सांगायचं काय आहे तर, बेपत्ता असलेल्या विमाधारकाला कंपनी FIR दाखल केलेल्या तारखेपासून सात वर्षांनी मृत घोषित करते. 

जर ह्या सात वर्षाच्या कालावधीत विम्याचे हप्ते वेळेत भरले गेले असतील तर कोर्टाने प्रमाणित केलेली हुकूमनाम्याची प्रत (court decree) व Police Report विमा कंपनीकडे दाखल करुन विमा पॅालीसीचा दावा घेता येतो.

The doorbell rang, and the newspaper roll fell inside.

Mihir kept the tea aside and picked up the newspaper.

Two or three pamphlets fell out of the paper.

​'Golden Voyage​', a unique scheme for the newlyweds! 

Mihir started reading the pamphlet and remembered that he had to pay the policy premium. 

He immediately logged in, but Prajakta’s face kept lingering in his eyes.

It was the Lieutenant Colonel Vaidya's birthday, and light music was playing on the band in front. Captain Raut had thrown a party on the lawns of his cottage. A few military officers and relatives were attending the party. 

Mihir had been recently commissioned, and he was an invitee too. He was looking very handsome in the Military uniform. His reddish-pink fingers were moving across the glass of rum, and his blue eyes were observing the surroundings.

“Welcome Mihir!”

A resonant voice and a firm pat on the back – both crashed on Mihir simultaneously.

“Oh, Captain Raut!” Mihir exclaimed as he turned back.

“I don’t believe such a handsome personality alone today?” The captain said, winking his eyes.

“No sir! I have! (Mihir raises his hand showing the rum glass in his hand)

“Cheers!”

Another glass was raised.

“Oh, Welcome Major Khare!”

Captain Raut was introducing Major Khare’s wife and his daughter. Prajakta, 10 to 12 years old, was the daughter of Major Khare. Prajakta's shiny eyes and stylish face were an attraction despite her young age.

10,9,8,7,6,5,4,3,2,1, and the rocket set on its voyage ​'Campaign-2​' to Mars. 

Mihir, along with Captain Rohit and two other colleagues, was a part of this campaign.

After a long journey of 7 months, the spacecraft ​'Operation Mars​-2’ landed on Mars for the maintenance of the​ 'Perseverance Rover​' sent by NASA. They conducted a few experiments alongside the maintenance of the ​'Perseverance Rover. ' 

Will Mars support life? 

This was one of the tasks on Mars campaign's agenda. The Mars operation-2 team completed their task on time and began their journey back to Earth.

The melodious shehnai music had filled the air, and the couple, Mihir and Prajakta, looked gorgeous in their traditional wedding attire.

Stunned! Aren’t you friends?

Yes, I will tell you what happened.

Mihir’s spacecraft got pulled into the black hole while returning to Earth. However, by God’s grace, it returned to Earth unharmed, and by that time, Prajakta had grown up into a beautiful bride.

Yes! On Earth's time scale, Mihir’s spacecraft was trapped in the black hole for about 15 to 16 years, but when he returned to Earth, his age had not increased. Our hero was very much within mid-twenties.

The two-seater 'Just Married Airbus' of Mihir – Prajakta left for the honeymoon on the space station, and Mihir logged in for the ‘Golden Voyage plan’.

Friends, what I want to tell you here is that the insurance company declares the missing person dead 7 years after the date of filing the FIR. 

During these 7 years, if the policy premium has been paid​ on time, then, as per the certified copy of the court decree and with the police report, ​a nominee can claim the policy amount by submitting these documents to the insurance company.
