Blog 27 - 'Balwantrao & PariRani'

This is the Mumbai station of “Akashwani”

We now present the “Bhav-Sargam” programme on emotional songs.

“One fairy fell asleep fully withered

Disparity on face and tears in eyes dried

This is the routine; nothing new today

I can’t stand with a sorry face every day…………”

Audience, You all just heard the song “The tale of a tired father” sung by Sandeep Khare and Salil Kulkarni. The words of the anchor were fading in the atmosphere. The lyrics of “The tale of the tired father” were echoing in the ears of Ketki. All the memories were flooding out in the form of tears in her eyes. She was reliving and tasting those sweet moments with her father in each drop of the tears.

Balwantrao's job called for frequent relocation, due to which he was not able to spend time at home.

Because of this nature of his job, he had opted to relocate alone and stationed his wife and only daughter at his home in order for their comfort. However, whenever he was at home, he used to spend maximum time with Ketki.

In that faintly discernible scene, Ketki saw her father carrying her on his back like a horse, The father who stayed awake during her illness, who gave her ice cream, who ate her ice cream at the blink of her eye, who made her laugh and cry.

Suddenly the mobile phone in her hand chimed the notification of SMS, and she came to her senses.

After the death of her father, ₹25,000 got credited to her account every month. Her father had provisioned for her lifetime. The warmth of his love prevailed perpetually even after his death.

Friends, What did Mr. Balwantrao do for Ketki?

He had invested a lump sum amount in the “Jeevan Shanti” Pension Scheme along with Ketki.

Just last year, his pension had started, and he suddenly passed away.

Now Ketki would get the pension for her entire lifetime, and her daughter would get a one-time lump sum amount, as a gift from her grandfather, after Ketki’s death.

So, How did you find the fairy tale of Mr. Balwantrao?

Do inform.
