अनुदिनी ५३ - 'इन्शुरन्स, ऑनलाईन की ऑफलाईन' / Blog 53 - 'Buying Insurance Online or Offline'

"अरे सॅम, त्या एजन्टने ईमेल केलेले इन्शुरन्सचे प्रपोजल तू ऑनलाईन तपासणार होतास ना?" उश्यांचे अभ्रे घालता, घालता उत्तराने समीर उर्फ सॅमला ढोसले. "हो हो बघीतले गं! ऑनलाईन प्रीमियम वर्षाला जवळपास ३०,००० रुपयांनी कमी आहे." परवाच सॅमचे बाबा त्यांच्या ओळखीच्या वित्तीय सल्लागाराला (Wealth Advisor) घेऊन आले होते. सॅम - उत्तराला गुंतवणुकीविषयी काही अडचणी व शंका होत्या आणि त्या संदर्भात त्यांना मार्गदर्शन हवे होते. विषयाच्या ओघात सध्या असलेल्या विमापॉलिसींविषयी बोलणे झाले. सॅमने त्यांच्या आग्रहाखातर त्या कपाटातून शोधून आणल्या. तेवढ्यात सिद्धू तेथे आला. त्याची लुडबुड सुरू झाली. खरेतर नवीन व्यक्तीला पाहून तो रडायचा, आरडाओरडा करायचा. पण कसा कोण जाणे तो त्या अनोळखी व्यक्तीच्या मांडीवरच जाऊन बसला. सिद्धूच्या एकंदरीत वागण्यामुळे सॅम - उत्तरा पाहुण्यांसमोर त्याला नेत नसत, चारचौघात त्याला नेणे ते टाळत असत. हो मंडळी,कारणच तसं होतं! सिद्धूला डाऊन सिंड्रोम होता! पण आज त्या अनोळखी व्यक्ती सोबत तो छान रमला. त्या व्यक्तिनेही त्याचे वेगळेपण अत्यंत सहजपणे घेतले. कामाच्या गोष्टी बाजूला राहिल्या आणि दोघांच्या गप्पा-टप्पात तासभर कसा गेला ते कळलेच नाही. "उत्तरा दोन दिवस सुट्टी आहे, तुझ्या त्या पॉलिसीवर जन्मतारीख चुकली आहे, तर त्यासाठी विम्याचे मूळ कागदपत्र (Original Insurance policy document ) शोधून ठेव आणि पॅनकार्ड पण तयार ठेव आणि हो, ते म्हणत होते तुझ्या पप्पांच्या पेन्शन पॉलिसीवर आई गेल्यावर वारसदार म्हणून तुझे नाव टाकावे लागेल, तर पप्पांशी बोलून घे." मंडळी ! मागच्या आठवड्यातील त्या व्यक्तीसोबतच्या भेटीनंतर सॅम-उत्तराला गुंतवणुकीतील नवे 'ABCD' समजले. Ascertain the accuracy of the Basic data Carefully and Diligently! ते एकदम खडबडून जागे झाले. गुंतवणूक म्हणजे फक्त टक्के बघणे एवढेच त्यांना ज्ञात होतं; म्हणूनच ऑनलाईन पॉलिसीचा प्रीमियम किती कमी आहे हे ते बघत होते तुलना (compare) करत होते. मंडळी, लक्षात घ्या गुंतवणूक ही काही स्विगी, झोमॅटोवरून मागविण्याची वस्तू नव्हे. आज चाखून पहिली,नाही आवडली तर पुढच्या वेळेस दुसरी डिश मागवली. गुंतवणूक व आर्थिक नियोजन करताना तिथे जातीने लक्ष घालणारी व्यक्ती हवी. जी तुम्हाला वेळ देईल. तुमच्या गरजा जाणून घेईल आणि आपल्या अनुभवाचा तुम्हाला फायदा करून देईल. झोमॅटोवरून आलेल्या डिशमध्ये काही कमी-जास्त असल्यास पटकन ताटावरून उठून ते आपल्या कुटुंबाच्या चवीचे करणाऱ्याची आपुलकी तिथे आवश्यक असते. मंडळी, आपण 'TERMINATOR-2' बघितला आहात का? यात एके ठिकाणी टर्मिनेटर जॉनला विचारतो "Why humans cry?" जॉन उत्तरतो, "एखादी व्यक्ती ज्या वेळेस दुखावली जाते त्या वेळेस ती रडते." चित्रपटाच्या अखेरीस जॉन, टर्मिनेटरला परत न जाण्याविषयी कळवळून, रडत-रडत सांगत असतो आणि त्यावेळेस टर्मिनेटर त्याला म्हणतो, "I know now why you cry but it's something I could never do." (टर्मिनेटर रडू शकत नसतो) भावना कळूनही त्या जर व्यक्त करता येत नसतील तर तो मनुष्यप्राणी कसला? मनुष्याचे सर्व आयुष्य हे भाव-भावना व्यक्त करण्यातच जाते आणि त्या भावनांच्या, कर्तव्याच्या, पूर्ततेसाठीच तर तो सगळी आर्थिक गणितं मांडत असतो. अशी ही गणितं जीवंतपणाचा आभास निर्माण करणाऱ्या 'AI (Artificial Intelligence),ChatGPT' सोबत मांडण्यात काय अर्थ? त्यात गणितं लवकर सुटतीलही पण त्यात गुंतवणुकीतील 'ABCD' सांगणारा, 'सिद्धू' चे भावविश्व् जाणणारा एक कुटुंब स्नेही नसेल. काय मंडळी, पटतंय का? बघता, बघता मंडळी २०२३ पण सरले कि हो! चला, ना कि फक्त २०२४ चे तर, आयुष्यातील प्रत्येक क्षणाचे, दिवसाचे,सकारात्मकतेने स्वागत करूया. त्या सकारात्मकतेकरता शुभेच्छा! --------------------------------------------------------------------------

Friends, investments are not like a dish that we order online, and if we don’t like it, we order a different dish the next time. There has to be a person to oversee the investment and financial planning who will spend time with you and, based on experience, will help make a profitable investment after understanding the requirements. The person should blend with the family like to mend the dish, ordered online, and was not liked by all, to the taste of the family. Friends! Did you watch the ‘Terminator 2’ movie? In this, the Terminator asks John – “Why do humans cry?” John answers – “When a person grieves, the person cries” In the movie, in the end, John cries and requests the Terminator not to go back, and then the Terminator says – “I know now why you cry, but it’s something that I could never do!” It’s only a human being who will express the feelings; otherwise, how can he be called a human? Human beings spend their entire life expressing their feelings, and for the fulfillment of the responsibilities arising out of their feelings, all this financial planning is done. What is the use of availing the so-called skills of 'AI and ChatGPT that only try to simulate the liveliness of life? Such software will be able to efficiently solve the math of investment, but will it have the affection of that acquaintance who could understand the feelings of Sidhu? Do you agree?
