Change
Good morning, friends!
I guess you all must be remembering the famous character "Narayan" – by P.L. Deshpande.
He was the main who would toil to ensure that all the events of marriage, from shopping to the
actual wedding, went on smoothly and unhindered. The so-called omnipresent, event manager.
Now, you would wonder, why did I refer Narayan all of a sudden? That is because; I recently attended
a marriage in a quaint marriage hall having a nicely decorated canopy (Mandap). All the rituals of
the marriage were being performed in this canopy and it had two large screens on its sides. I
thought they would shoot and project the rituals on this screen for all to see.
However, surprisingly, in a few moments, the screen lit up with the pictures of the bride and
bridegroom at a picturesque location.
It was when I realized that these pictures were of the pre-wedding shoot.
This means, that the "Narayan" - event manager of today has one more responsibility to shoulder.
Now, he has to organize the pre-wedding shoot too.
Such novice changes are to be welcomed with changing times.
For example, the AC has replaced the fan in the bedroom over time and in recent days, it has even
gotten into our drawing-room. The age-old request to turn the fan on after reaching home tired and
exhausted has been replaced by a new request for turning the AC on.
Similarly, the family doctor (whom we visited for all the ailments) concept has faded away. Along
with him, MD physicians, diabetologists, cardiologists are also required to be consulted. This too
is change!
In earlier days, cataract operation, that too after 60, was the only surgery that used to be
generally done and was heard of. However, now a days, knee replacement surgery, angiography, bypass
surgeries, routine check-ups are not strange or unheard of anymore.
Even the apparels market has expanded from the meagre shirt/trousers/saree/dress etc to office wear,
casual wear, weekend wear, party wear, etc. and has thrown open various options of dressing for each
day of the week. Earlier there were just shops, now we have shopping malls.
Change - The only constant!!!!
Along with the food, clothes, shelter, the most sought after and craved gadget that normally
gets changed every 3 years is the MOBILE. This too is an example of change.
Well, with this, the most important factor by now you must have realised is, this change has one
element in common and that is, generation of more and more money.
Therefore, and thus, even in the planning of the investment, this CHANGE must be implemented.
Have you?
Right?
